Shahab Khan
Managing Partner

I have over 25 years experience in capex projects planning and execution in pharmaceutical industry. My work experience span both small molecule and biologic pharma manufacturing facilities.

After earning the MS Chemical Engineering degree from NJIT, I joined Sandoz Pharmaceuticals in 1991 as Plant Engineer, managing facilities and executing small scale capital projects. After the merger in 1996 which created Novartis, I briefly managed the small molecule API manufacturing operations before transitioning to Novartis Global Engineering managing capital expenditure projects.

In 2003, I moved to Watson labs in California where I managed the drug products manufacturing facilities projects. In 2007, I joined Genentech as Senior Process Engineer. Since then I have been involved in biologic facilities design and construction projects in different capacities, ranging from project engineer to project and program manager.

In 2020, I joined Impossible Foods as Director, Biomanufacturing Projects. My group was responsible for the planning and construction of Heme protein plants using microbial fermentation. I styed at IF until October 2022 when the company reduced its workforce in response to the decline in plant based protein business.

More recently, I have been consulting on some interesting projects in Pakistan and Bangladesh. It spans connecting suppliers and customers of food products, microbial facility design and construction for preclinical and clinical supplies of new therapeutic agents and IVIG facility planning.

My professional credentials include PE license in California and PMP certification.

Stay tuned to see more ventures my colleagues are working on.
